Dr. Linda K. Hur

About Dr. Hur

Dr. Hur graduated from University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry in 1990. She then returned to Los Altos where she grew up and practiced in several local clinics before joining Mountain View Optometry in 1991. She is a dedicated member of organized optometry and has participated actively at the local level on special projects and as a Board of Trustee.

Awards and Recognitions

Dr. Hur was awarded "Optometrist of the Year, 2006" by her peers, the Santa Clara County Optometric Society, for her dedication to the profession of Optometry. She was also recognized as Young Optometrist of the Year by the SCCOS in 1992. She was a recipient two years in a row of California Optometric Association's "Society Project of the Year" award. These projects emphasized vision awareness in school-age children.

Activities and Involvement

In addition to general Optometry, Dr. Hur enjoys contact lens challenges and children's vision. She participates as a clinical investigator for contact lens and solutions studies. Dr. Hur encourages young people to consider the profession of Optometry and participates in Career Day at various local high schools.

Dr. Hur and her husband, Dr. Jeff Calmere, love the outdoors. She has a passion for running and has completed four marathons thus far. In addition, she and her husband are very dedicated to their ten nephews and nieces scattered as far away as Paris, France. Dr. Hur is involved in her community and church.
