Dr. Zibya Karolia
About Dr. Karolia
Dr. Karolia attended Santa Clara University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology in 2001. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California at Berkeley School of Optometry. She then pursued advanced clinical training in a residency program at the Palo Alto Veteran's Affairs Hospital where she specialized in Primary Care Optometry and Low Vision Rehabilitation. She is excited to return to Mountain View Optometry where she first developed her interest in optometry while working as an optometric technician.
Awards and Recognitions
Dr. Karolia was recognized in 2007 by Beta Sigma Kappa International Honor Society for four consecutive years of academic excellence while in school. Her skills in the area of primary care optometry were recognized with the Tang Eye Center-Ciba Vision Award in 2007. She was also the 2007 recipient of The William Feinbloom Low Vision Award for excellence in the area of low vision rehabilitation.
Activities and Involvement
Dr. Karolia currently serves as a clinical instructor at the University of California at Berkeley School of Optometry. She enjoys volunteering and traveling and has managed to combine her favorite activities by volunteering her optometric services in humanitarian aid missions to Nicaragua, Thailand, and Palau.
