History

Mountain View Optometry and Contact Lens Clinic (MVO) evolved from a practice established by William Wright O.D. in 1953.Dr. Wright was active in the Mountain View Community and was recognized as Mountain View's Citizen of the Year and was active in clinical research. In 1971, he retired from the practice.

In 1964, William Sagan, O.D. joined Dr. Wright in practice. Dr. Sagan was a pioneer in contact lenses and was well respected in his field. He continued the tradition of professional and community services, receiving much recognition and many awards until his passing away in 1991.

Today, MVO is one of the leading eyecare facilities in Santa Clara County and Northern California. Our doctors continue to provide quality, comprehensive eyecare in the tradition of Drs. Wright and Sagan-professionalism with a personal touch. Moreover, each doctor takes pride in advancing their clinical skills and knowledge to always stay at the forefront of optometry and providing full-scope care to each patient. To this end, the clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art computerized diagnostic equipment to detect, evaluate and diagnose eye disease and eye related systemic disorders.

Our facility carries a full array of contact lenses and the widest selection of designer eyewear and lens options. We also provide refractive surgery consultations should glasses or contacts fail to meet the needs of the patient. The doctors are available for emergency eye visits and are prepared to prescribe necessary medications as licensed by the State of California.
