Kenneth Schwaderer OD, FAAO

Dr. Kenneth Schwaderer has been with the practice since 1971.

Dr. Schwaderer graduated from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. He is Board Certified. Rather than joining his father's optometric practice in Sonoma, he joined Mountain View Optometry. He is a very active member in his profession and community.

Awards and Recognitions

Dr. Schwaderer was recognized as University of California Alumnus of the Year by the Optometry Alumni Association. He was also recognized as California Optometrist of the year, a very prestigious award given to him for not only his extensive contribution to the profession, but also to the local community.

Activities and Involvement

Dr. Schwaderer is a past Chairman of the Board of Vision Service Plan, and also serves as an ambassador to the University of California at Berkeley. He is a fellow of both the American Academy of Optometry and the national Board of Examiners in Optometry. He is the past Chairman of the Board and a founding Board Member of California Ophthalmic Laser Associates. He is also a founding member of the Contact Lens and Low Vision Sections of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Schwaderer has served as the principle investigator on many clinical research and contact lens projects. He has been a guest faculty lecturer for the Stanford University Medical Center Primary Care Program. He is a very active member of Mountain View Rotary Club and Mountain View Chamber of Commerce. He has served on the board of Bellarmine College Preparatory and has been a perennial coach of Little League Baseball.

Dr. Schwaderer and his wife, Susan, have raised two terrific sons: Andy, a graduate of Purdue University and Cory, a graduate of the University of Arizona. They have two wonderful daughters-in-laws and five very special grandchildren.
